Who are you?

My name is Jennifer and I'm a graphic designer and photographer! I pursued my career this January because I was unhappy with my old job and decided to turn my hobby into my passion. I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to head in but fashion was a fun outlet for me and it continues to drive me today.

What are you inspired by?

I'm inspired by many photographers, the biggest one being Von Wong, who gets the travel the world creating insane photographs that you could've sworn used photoshop. My favorite set by him was the shepherd concept underwater with live sharks circling around the model.

What was the last movie you watched?

Finding Dory!

What was the last book you read?

The Invention of Nature.

Do you have any role model?

I guess that falls under question two as well!

What is your next creative project?

I'm currently trying to plan a desert roadtrip for a potential photoshoot out in sand dunes! I'm still trying to figure out what direction I'm going to take it.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

It's a pretty straightforward platform, easy to use, affordable, and your customer service team is on top of everything!

Who are you?

My name is Nico, and I am a photographer. I would like to think of my work as an intimate secret that I'm sharing with the world.

My photography tends to be on the simplistic side; I stray from using fancy gadgets, heavy amounts of Photoshop, makeup artists, and an overall crew because 1.) I have this "do it yourself"/"less is more" attitude that my grandfather drilled into my head since I was a child, 2.) It's my art, and art is subjective, I can do whatever the heck I want with it, and 3.) I like to be one-on-one with my subjects, it's an intimate process that I don't like to glamorize or make overly "done up" with things that I don't feel are necessary in order to create.

What are you inspired by?

I am heavily influenced by Renaissance paintings, there is something so otherworldly and fragile about the women in those portraits that I love to imitate. I also like the lessons that come from folklore, it's played a huge role in assisting me with conceptualizing my images. Guillermo del Toro, Juergen Teller, Paolo Roversi, Francesca Woodman, Deborah Turbeville, Sally Mann, Sylvia Plath, The Smiths, and this wonderful Icelandic band called 'Múm', have all been artists that I am influenced by greatly. My biggest source of inspiration would have to be the feelings brought on by intimate moments in my life, particularly the feelings that I experience when going through a breakup or when I become infatuated with a romantic interest.

What was the last movie you watched?

"The Forrest"...I think? Maybe? Struggling to remember here....Sorry, I've been completely addicted to/binge watching the series "Vikings" (Floki makes my heart soar) and "Game of Thrones", everything else before that is a bit of a blur.

What was the last book you read?

"The Time Traveler's Wife".

Do you have any role model?

My grandmother and grandfather, they're both immigrants who worked very hard to establish themselves, in foreign territory, during rather tough times.

What is your next creative project?

I have quite a few projects lined up, I just have a horrible way of explaining them, especially when it comes to the models I work with. Fortunately for me, they have learned to adjust to my eccentricity. I'm pretty sure that one model in particular has it in their mind that I could possibly be a serial killer though, I tossed an idea his way about putting a bird nest on his chest in the middle of a forest, and still have yet to hear back from him. Oh the joys of being awkward~

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I love how user-friendly it is. I have flat out given up on other hosts and always gone with Portfoliobox because of its beautiful simplicity.

Art as such, nature, my three kids and not to forget the negligibilities of everyday life.

Who are you?

I'm a 29 years old photographer/motion graphic designer based in Paris, France. I've always loved visiting new places and I'm lucky enough to get to travel a lot with my job. Whenever I'm on a trip, I like shooting clean landscapes. Iceland is the most interesting place that I've got to see so far for this purpose.

What are you inspired by?

Water, mountains, empty places...

What was the last movie you watched?

"Cafe Society" by Woody Allen.

What was the last book you read?

"Berezina" by Sylvain Tesson.

Do you have any role model?

Ray Collins maybe, whom I got to meet a couple of years ago in Iceland. He's amazing at what he does. His images are breathtaking, and on the top of that he's a cool fellow!

What is your next creative project?

I'm going to the Philippines in a two weeks time, to shoot corporate photos and videos (which is my regular job) I hope that I'll be able to visit some nice places whenever I get some free time.

Apart from that, a trip to Norway is planned anytime soon, to go kayaking and hiking. Seems like the perfect place for the pictures that I like to take.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

Definitely the friendly user interface and all the possibilities that it gives me. Also for a very affordable price.

Who are you?

My name is Nathan Robin. I’m freelance fashion photographer. I’m 18 (and a half!!) years old and currently studying Art and Craft in a global way in Paris.

What are you inspired by?

I think inspiration is everywhere. I mean, every single thing we do/see is constitutive of who we are and what we like. In my particular case, I think painting and fashion are great inspirations but I’m also sensitive to different cultures in the whole world and they definitely inspire me.

My last story (published in FRUK magazine) was a reference to an old trip in Africa when I was 14. At this time I was part of a humanitarian project named EDDSICA (education to sustainable development, international solidarity and African culture) at school. My teachers made me discover the african culture and I did a lot of photographs in Senegal. The story tells a cultural white woman’s dressing up and her obsession for that. In a way it’s a reminder and a tribute to this beautiful project.

What was the last movie you watched?

I watched "The Grand Budapest Hotel" by Wes Anderson a few days ago.

What was the last book you read?

I’m currently reading « Petite infamies » By Carmen Posada. I like simple stories and complicated characters.

Do you have any role model?

It’s impossible not to be talking about Emma Summerton, Greg Kadel or Phillip Lorca di Corcia, they are my Top list fashion photographers. But my crush really is for Txema Yeste. His work is so gorgeous, I definitely would love to meet him (Txema, if you read this…)

What is your next creative project?

I still have a lot of ideas and projects. This is probably the reason why I feel like I can’t even realize a single percent of them. But to keep it simple I would say that I am currently focusing on my global aesthetic. I’m looking for the perfect editorial. My imagination is very blurred about this but I’m looking for a story that I could be completely proud of, with strong images.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I have been using Portofliobox for 2 years now and I like the easiness combined with a lot of possibilities. I can’t really remember how I did before. Every option is simplified for a professional ending design.

I recently met with Sébastien Kopf from the label Veja, a visionary in his domain. He has bought the issues of sustainability in fashion to the foreground, so for his work for ethical and sustainable fashion with his brand Veja and his Paris concept store "Centre Commercial". He is my inspiration today.
