Who are you?

I'm a photographer but actually I'm creating all ideas and even styling (I actually often even sew the clothes) and hair & make up I do by myself too (..if it's not some job for hairdresser or whatever or some other production work, but I'm always trying to push myself to do it cause I like to work with every shooting like with whole project). I did school of art so I like to work with my hands (cause only shooting feels for me just like half work if someone else would prepair it for me).

What are you inspired by?

Inspiration..well.. I'm traveling a lot, but mostly the last piece is going from the feeling I have from each model I shoot.

What was the last movie you watched?

The last movie... hard to say... I was quite busy last period... but mostly I prefer to watch scifi movies.. especialy the ones which give you that strange feeling after they finish... I don't know... maybe I like Lars Von Tiers movies, Daren Aronowsky work... but even more comercial stuff.. depends. :)

What was the last book you read?

books... I love books from Harumi Murakami.

Do you have any role model?

I don't really have role model... but for sure the work I see around has some feedback on me... I like really simple raw photos (but for these unfortunally I don't have much time cause I like to shoot them in analog which I like to develop myself... I have a Pentacon Six) or some super crazy stuff like the work of David LaChapelle (I like if I can see the story in the picture and he is a master in it).

What is your next creative project?

Well... I made some wings to separatelly attach to arm and forearm. I wanted to shoot on roof top from where I can see the old prague town... cause now I'm for one month in my home town... those photos I wanna do more raw... I don't wanna get to that "angel look" .. but as I know myself... it will finish in some more less fashion... it everytime does :D

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

In Portfoliobox I like the simplicity in managing the actual website... and that I can create simple "clean" look.

Who are you?

My name is Maja Lindberg and I’m an illustrator living and working in the south of Sweden. I started my business six years ago, first as a graphic designer but after a while I began to concentrate on illustrations. I set up a store at www.etsy.com and it became successful. Nowadays I sell my illustrations to customers around the whole world and collaborates with companies from Sweden, United States and United Kingdom.

What are you inspired by?

My images are inspired by fairy tales, dreams, memories, movies and books. I love being out in the nature, I try to get out for a walk every day, it makes me feel better and get my mind to spin in a different way than sitting by the desk all day. I’m lucky to live close to the ocean and I believe that’s where a lot of my ideas are set.

What was the last movie you watched?

It was Star Wars - The Force Awakens. I’m not a Star Wars fan, but I really liked this one.

What was the last book you read?

Lila hibiskus (In English: Purple Hibiscus) by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A very good book about a Nigerian girl who grows up with a strict catholic father.

Do you have any role model?

Some of my favorite artists are Rebecca Dautremer, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Gabriel Pacheco and the director Tim Burton.

What is your next creative project?

This fall, my first book is released. It’s an ABC-book with small rhymes based on my illustrations.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I’m so amazed how easy it was!!

I had been thinking on making a new website for a time but always postponed it. My last website was made in Wordpress and it was quite a long time since I updated it. And one morning I decided that it was time to add more pictures into my gallery. But I couldn’t remember how to do it! So after sitting for an hour trying to find out how, I realized that it was time to try something new. I set up an account at Portfoliobox and in just a couple of hours I was done. It was just how I wanted it to look! And the best of all, so easy to update the gallery!!

Tamás Sasvári

Portfolio of the day

April 25, 2016

Who are you?

My name is Tamás Sasvári and I am a Hungarian 3D graphic artist as well as a hobby photographer. I work for a famous company (Digic Pictures) where we make game cinematics. I have been interested in making images for a very long time.

I have been taking photos for 10 years as a hobby. I have never thought of it as a job for a living, but who knows what the future brings.

What are you inspired by?

Everything that surrounds me. I love to watch and listen things. A nice environment, a building, a movie or even the most ordinary moments of life.

What was the last movie you watched?

It was The Hateful Eight. I really admired the cinematographer's work and the production design, and last but not least the actors' work.

What was the last book you read?

It was Stephen King's Doctor Sleep. He is my favourite writer.

Do you have any role model?

I don't have any role model in particular. I discover new photographers on a daily basis whose works inspire me.

What is your next creative project?

I have been planning for a long time to immerse myself into taking portraits. Besides this I would love to work on projects in which I could also use my 2D and 3D graphic knowledge. So far these are only plans and I will pursue them according to my free time.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

It grabbed me with its simplicity and swiftness. Everyone is able to create his or her own web page after getting familiar with its simple interface. I had spent days or even weeks with the good old web programming until I got what I wanted to achieve. Here if I change my mind it takes only a few clicks to apply a brand new design on my site.

Who are you?

I am a photographer located in Long Beach, California. I teach photography at California State University Dominguez Hills and have been photographing for about 10 years. Mostly I shoot digital, but still like to dabble with analog cameras. Generally, I only shoot in color and edit my images to bring out detail and vibrance. My photographic work consists of portraits, theatre/dance, and documentary/editorial subject matter.

What are you inspired by?

I'm inspired by other photographers, music, contemporary/street art, documentaries, the world around me, and my dancer wife (which is why I got into to photographing dance).

What was the last movie you watched?

Idiocracy Its been out for a while, but I just finally watched it and it relates to things happening now...

What was the last book you read?

The Photograph... By Graham Clarke & Studio Anywhere... By Nick Fancher.

Do you have any role model?

I don't really see these people as role models, because I have never met them, but their work pushes me to be a better photographer. Glen E. Friedman is the first photographer I saw who's work made me want to be a photographer. Gregory Crewdson's work makes me want to experiment with lighting and mood. Vivian Maier's work gets me to really look at composition and framing. Pieter Hugo's work makes me want to find the most unique subjects I can to put in front of my lens.

What is your next creative project?

I am working on a photo documentary series about children race car drivers. The whole series will be shot with film using Holga cameras. After I get done with the entire series, I will experiment with household chemicals to manipulate the negatives and create uniquely surreal images.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I love the ability to design my site to look the way I want it and not be stuck in some pre-designed template. Portfoliobox gives me the freedom to be creative with my site and has made me proud of my online image gallery.

What are you inspired by?

Nature is a gold mine for me. I also find inspiration in the daily life: cinema, books, trips. I spend a lot of time looking at pictures by photographers from around the world.

Do you have any role model?

I am inspired by many people. Those who pop into my mind are Vincent Munier (photographer), Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer for directing and composing the music of Interstellar.

What is your next creative project?

I work on a project about wildlife that can be seen around Paris. Later on, I would like to exhibit a series a photo about wildlife near major cities. This exhibition would aim to raise the public awareness about the preservation of the natural habitat for these animals but with an aesthetic and personal touch.
