Who are you?
My name is Jaco Putker and I’m a printmaker from The Hague, The Netherlands. I combine digital and traditional etching techniques to produce hand pulled prints which are both playful and sinister, nostalgic and magical.
What is your next creative project?
I’d like to move my work into the 3D world. Also I’m interested in animating my prints. Both of these are still vague ideas that need to simmer for a little while longer.
How would you describe your work?
I see my prints as illustrations to fables that don't exist, but hopefully take shape in the viewer’s minds.

What do you want your viewers to take away from your work?
Rather than impose a meaning to my work, I prefer to invite the viewers to associate freely and give the prints personal significance through individual perceptions and filters. I like to let the people make up their own stories.
If anything, I’d like to inject the audience with a little mystery and wonderment.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?
I was drawn to Portfoliobox by the design of the templates. All the preview sites felt really fresh and contemporary and I wanted my website to have a similar clean and crispy design. Once I set to work on it, I found building my site was really easy and intuitive. I also really liked the possibility to open a great looking store.
I had researched other platforms, but basically I found that Portfoliobox had incorporated all the elements I liked from all different providers into one easy to use and economically sound service.
