Portfolio of the day
Who are you?
My name is Maja Lindberg and I’m an illustrator living and working in the south of Sweden. I started my business six years ago, first as a graphic designer but after a while I began to concentrate on illustrations. I set up a store at www.etsy.com and it became successful. Nowadays I sell my illustrations to customers around the whole world and collaborates with companies from Sweden, United States and United Kingdom.
What are you inspired by?
My images are inspired by fairy tales, dreams, memories, movies and books. I love being out in the nature, I try to get out for a walk every day, it makes me feel better and get my mind to spin in a different way than sitting by the desk all day. I’m lucky to live close to the ocean and I believe that’s where a lot of my ideas are set.
What was the last movie you watched?
It was Star Wars - The Force Awakens. I’m not a Star Wars fan, but I really liked this one.
What was the last book you read?
Lila hibiskus (In English: Purple Hibiscus) by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A very good book about a Nigerian girl who grows up with a strict catholic father.
Do you have any role model?
Some of my favorite artists are Rebecca Dautremer, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Gabriel Pacheco and the director Tim Burton.
What is your next creative project?
This fall, my first book is released. It’s an ABC-book with small rhymes based on my illustrations.
What do you like about Portfoliobox?
I’m so amazed how easy it was!!
I had been thinking on making a new website for a time but always postponed it. My last website was made in Wordpress and it was quite a long time since I updated it. And one morning I decided that it was time to add more pictures into my gallery. But I couldn’t remember how to do it! So after sitting for an hour trying to find out how, I realized that it was time to try something new. I set up an account at Portfoliobox and in just a couple of hours I was done. It was just how I wanted it to look! And the best of all, so easy to update the gallery!!Visit site
