Who are you?

My name is Rameses Abdallah. I recently left the corporate world after 15 years to chase my passion. I love movies, music and photography. I just like creativity. I am pretty reserved and somewhat of an introvert but trying to put myself out there more to get my name out there. I consider myself a perpetual student, an information junkie and a constant work in progress. I love editorial work the most even though it doesn’t make much money. It gives me the opportunity to draw on my cinematic inspirations and tell stories I vision. This has a lot of influence on how I compose and structure my shoots.

What are you inspired by?

I am inspired by art and movies. Particularly the great story tellers. I like great epics that inspires my vision for photography. Giving the viewer that cinematic perspective I believe allows the viewer to experience my photography through the cinematic eye that is both familiar and comfortable. I am also inspired by the great photographers of today that take so many chances and are committed to their visions and style.

What was the last movie you watched?

The last movie I watched was Jason Bourne. Huge fan of that series. I like fast paced action movies where the cinematography seems to pull the viewer into the action.

What was the last book you read?

The last book I read was Flash Boys by Michael Lewis. It's about high frequency stock trading and you won’t believe how much money people make in literally a fraction of a second. It's a huge competitive advantage and these people went really far to get it. Great insight into how Wall Street is rigged even against themselves.

Do you have any role model?

In terms of role models I think it's more of admiration for people that prove time and time again that hard work out performs talent when talent doesn’t work hard (Joel Grimes). I am a huge fan of success against the odds and people that know the difference between staying true to your style and knowing when to change.

What is your next creative project?

My next creative project is a big beauty shoot. Excited to share soon.
