Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm a 32-year-old commercial photographer, from Stavanger - Norway. I'm the owner of Studio Gaffa, www.studiogaffa.com (also a Portfolibox site that highlights more of my work). Where I collaborate with other creatives like film photographers, graphic designer, to give clients the full package. My style is colorful and imaginative, and I love working with montages in photoshop to create creative scenarios. I have over a decade experience with photoshop, and I've always done creative portraits beside work, to learn and keep the creative process flowing.
Tell us about one of your favourite projects and what inspired you to do it
All of them! My favourite part with working as a photographer, is that no projects are the same, it varies and no day is the same. Everything from product pictures, commercial campaigns or musician portraits.
What are you working on at the moment?
Now I'm working on a personal project, since I want to do more editorial work. I'm also the Norwegian Focus Nordic ambassador for Polaroid, so I'm making content and Polaroid stuff. I'm also going to do musician portrait for a single release, and competition pictures for Goldwell color zoom. I'm also working on a self portrait. I always do, it's my therapy and keeps the creative passion floating.
Who are your biggest influencers in the industry?
My biggest influencer has always been David Lachapelle, I love his colorful and creative style and how he always tells a story with his pictures. Also Miles Aldridge, when it comes to fashion and editorial work. Or Tim Walker for his fairytale style. Erik Almas has to be my favourite Norwegian photographer, his montage work is so inspiring!
What was the last thing that inspired you?
The summer sun!
Tell us why it's important for you to have a photographer portfolio website
To showcase my work, and it's also great to have the possibility to update when wanted. Also to see how my work evolves.
As a professional photographer what are your tips in building a photographer portfolio website?
Over the years, I'm going more and more minimal with content. And just put up your best work, or work you want to do more of!
How do you market yourself?
I really love to put things out on Instagram, here I can also show more of me as a person. And then a good website to send around to clients or people who want to see more of my work.
Why do you use Portfoliobox?
I've been using portfoliobox over many years, and it gives me everything I want and more! And the support have been amazing over the years! It's easy to use, and love all the layouts and options.
