Who are you?
My name is Silvija Prokopaite and I am just about to start my third year in photography at the University of Roehampton in London. Most of my photographs are documentary projects that focus on observing people and the relationship they have with their surroundings.
What are you inspired by?
I am most inspired when observing people in their routine. My eye is also drawn by simplicity in architecture and mundane scenarios of everyday life.
What was the last movie you watched?
The last movie I watched was The Usual Suspects by Bryan Singer.
What was the last book you read?
The last book I read was Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, by Robert B. Cialdini.
Do you have any role model?
I don’t have one person in mind as my role model. I am inspired by people who don’t necessarily follow someone else’s path, who are visionaries, who achieve their goals in their own way and are not afraid to take risks.
What is your next creative project?
My next creative project will be my graduation project in which I will focus on erasing the line between fantasy and mundane life, with hopes of creating a new kind of reality. While doing that I will also continue with my street photography and hopefully keep updating my portfolio.
