Who are you?
I studied fine art painting in Blackpool & Fylde college before undertaking a degree in Fine Art Painting at Bath School of Art. Which is currently where I'm living. Recently I've specialised in the streets here and manipulating photography and palette knife painting impressions. Explaining my work can be quite the task, I don't specifically enjoy doing one thing more than the other. My dad wanted to be a cartoonist so from a young age I've been constantly drawing cartoons to make people laugh, which is where my kids books come into play. There's always been as some what a competition in social media recently to show off your pencil skills which is where I make most of my money. My palette knife impasto style impressions have been entered for the national portrait gallery next year so I'm still waiting to find out if I get in.
What is your next creative project?
My next project is I'm having my palette knives built even smaller and I'll be working on a bigger scale to produce even more complex impressions. I'm also simultaneously working on some portraits for commissions and my own kids book.
What do you like about Portfoliobox?
I chose Portfoliobox because it's incredibly simple to use. I've found in the past building your own website to be quite complex and paid to have people build them for me. Now I don't have too! I can upload freely straight to my gallery.
