Who are you?
My name is Michelle Black and I've been a photographer for almost 11 years now. Through my work I explore the essence of people and the Earth, seeking to highlight their elegance and simplicity. I have found it to be important for me develop and sustain a healthy relationship with myself order to create the most valuable and meaningful work. At the start of my career, I experimented a great deal with conceptual imagery and self-portraiture, and eventually redirected my focus to create emotive images of childhood. During that time I was also working closely with independent children's clothing designers, expanding my personal portfolio, and creating resources for other photographers. I am now focused primarily on working with couples, documenting nature, and adding to my personal portfolio (food + nature) for image licensing.
What is your next creative project?
I'm putting together a portfolio of interracial couples. I'm so excited about this project!
What do you like about Portfoliobox?
Most of all I love the simple, straightforward design of Portfoliobox. The vast amount of fonts to choose from is very helpful in customizing the look and feel of the site.
