Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm a photographer based in Stockport, Manchester, UK. I love to skate & that is where my passion for photography grew. I started shooting in 2015, got my first job in photography in 2016 & have been shooting ever since. I love animals & have 2 dogs, 2 cats & a tortoise.

I originally wanted to be a paramedic but had to drop out of college because I have a heart condition & was sick. That is how I fell into photography as a career.

Tell us about one of your favourite projects and what inspired you to do it

My #1 favourite project has been making my own skate magazine with my friends.

In lockdown, we found or selves a massive amount of time to skate & enjoy spots that would usually be too busy to skate. We started shooting with no intension of doing anything with it, but after speaking with Rob Dalton, one of the pro skaters in my group, we both decided we would like to make a mag. In Rollerblading, there hasn't really been any print issues of mags in the last 10 years or so. So we were super keen to get something off the ground just for nostalgia purposes & to document some of our great times together.

The magazine went live, with 150 copies & sold out within 3 hours. We were over the moon, not because of how quickly they sold, but more of who was buying them. Copies of the mag ended up in every continent around the world & around 16 countries.

Who are your biggest influencers in the industry?

What a question! There are so many instagram accounts I follow religiously. I really enjoy keeping up to date on agencies such as Rhoda Pond, Family Creative & Unmarked Agency.

What was the last thing that inspired you?

I'm inspired daily, but most recent was on my dog walk this morning, I saw a beautiful field full of blue bells. This triggered a current job I have going on with a drinks sponsor & how cool it would looke to shoot amongst the flowers. Something high speed with petals falling onto the product. The idea is there.

Tell us why it's important for you to have a portfolio website

My website acts as my portfolio for potential clients to be able to access my work from any where with internet.

As a photographer what are your tips in building a photography website?

My biggest tip is to be consistent. Any bad photos or type etc will be the main thing people remember, better to have less then have shots you aren't sure about.

How do you market yourself?

Word of mouth mainly but I get a lot of work through Instagram & my website.

Why do you use Portfoliobox?

Easy to edit & customise, cheap & all in one place.
