Who are you?
My name is Nikolina. I am a conceptual photographer and visual artist. I express my eerie visions through screenshots of an imagined story. I guide the viewer on a journey through the frames and visual interpretations of my fictional worlds. My motives are sometimes dark and gloomy and often present dreamlike ambients and monstrous creatures. I personify them with my state of consciousness, inner conflicts and excessive dreamy nature. I use photography as a main tool for my artworks, although I often combine it with other digital techniques. I take photos on a daily basis and has an immense database from which I choose the ones that are appropriate for my artworks. I then combine specific photographic fragments into complex montage until I get a realistic scenery. I often use self-portraits as characters within my visual stories and therefore become an interactive narrator, a storyteller who guides a viewer through my fantasy landscapes.
What are you inspired by?
I am inspired by sci-fi and fantasy environments as well as experimental music and I enjoy creating strange surroundings and atmospheres filled with mysterious events and characters.

Prometheus - second time.
What was the last book you read?
Aldous Huxley - Island.
Do you have any role model?
Not anyone particular - I admire a lot of people.
What is your next creative project?
I am working on my ‘Impeller’ and ‘Nesting Ground’ series at the moment along with some individual projects
