Switching email providers can feel overwhelming, but if you're ready to bring your custom email from Zoho to Portfoliobox, we’ve got you covered. This guide will walk you through the steps to transfer your custom email from Zoho to Portfoliobox.

Step 1: Back up your existing emails

Before starting the transfer, it’s essential to back up your emails on Zoho to ensure you don’t lose any important messages or contacts during the process. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to Zoho Mail.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Import/Export.
  4. Choose a folder and a date.
  5. Click on Export.

  1. Log into your dashboard.
  2. Click on the envelope icon associated with your website with a  Personal or Professional plan.
  3. Fill in your name.
  4. Fill in the email you wish to create.
  5. Click Create new email address to confirm.

Step 3: Update your domain's DNS settings

To begin using Portfoliobox email, you must update your domain's DNS settings to connect with the Portfoliobox email servers. If your domain is managed through Portfoliobox, we will update your DNS settings directly. If it's managed externally (such as through a registrar like GoDaddy or Namecheap), you’ll need to log in to that platform and update your DNS records according to this guide.

Note: DNS changes may take up to 24 hours to propagate fully, though it’s often faster.

Step 4: Import your emails

After setting up your new Portfoliobox email account, you may want to import your backed-up emails from Zoho to ensure you have all past communications accessible in one place.

  1. In your Portfoliobox dashboard, click the envelope icon next to your website name to access your Webmail.
  2. Once inside Webmail, navigate to your inbox.
  3. Click the More icon for additional options
  4. Select the Import option to start bringing your emails over.
  5. Locate the backed-up email files on your computer. You can import several files at once if needed.
  6. Click Import to upload them to your Portfoliobox inbox.
