Who are you?

I am a Swedish photographer with long (more than 30 years’) and broad experience of different kinds of photography. I currently work from my studio in Gamla stan with focus on food, portraits, interior design, architecture and garden. My pictures can be seen mainly in books, magazine and ads.

What are you inspired by?

What gets me most inspired is meetings people. Being a photographer is a great privilege and open doors to people and places I would not have the chance to experience otherwise. I get particularly inspired by creative and talented designers as well as authentic places and environments.

What was the last movie you watched?

The most recent movie I have seen is the movie about Ingrid Bergman - 'In Her Own Words'. A film that is that is both interesting and deeply fascinating.

What was the last book you read?

The most recent book I have read is 'At work' by Annie Leibowitz. A very inspiring book that tells the history about her unique pictures of celebrities.

Do you have any role model?

Sune Jonsson (Swedish photographer) because of his classic photography and pictures that are genuine and illustrates authenticity.

Who are you?

I am Phil Bebbington, 58 years old and from Bath, England. I take photographs.

What are you inspired by?

The search. That thing/feeling, which eludes us.

What was the last movie you watched?

Down By Law.

What was the last book you read?

Stoner - John Williams.

Do you have any role model?

No. I guess we are all influenced by others in both negative and positive ways. I have been most positively influenced, photographically, by, Stephen Shore.

What is your next creative project?

They never really end. There are those day to day projects that stop my brain completely seizing up (portraits) and the others (Crete & USA) which are more emotional responses. These will probably continue to haunt me for some time yet.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

Simple to use with little or no experience and yet, the end result looks great. Customer service is always both helpful and prompt.

Who are you?

I’m Jonathan, an architect and aspiring photographer. Shortly before I left for a year-long journey around the globe in 2014, I made the daring decision to trade in my weighty DSLR gear for a smaller Fujifilm rangefinder camera. I found this change to be a lot of fun and my love for photography was instantly reborn. Since returning to Europe, I settled in Munich and tried my hand in wedding and family photography, albeit with a photojournalistic approach. I love capturing human connection and emotion, a style which I developed during my travels.

What are you inspired by?

Where to start with that question?! There are many things that inspire me. If I had to choose one thing it would be going somewhere new and unfamiliar, getting to know a new culture and simply observing or meeting ordinary people going about their daily lives.

What was the last movie you watched?

I enjoy watching documentaries and recently watched 'The Salt of the Earth', a documentary film about Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado. I was inspired to watch it after seeing an exhibition of his work in Munich. And I wasn't disappointed - it was a fascinating movie.

What was the last book you read?

I’m currently reading 'Moods of Future Joys' by Alastair Humphreys, a book about an extraordinary trip around the world by bicycle.

Do you have any role model?

Naturally I admire documentary travel photographers such as Steve McCurry and Sebastião Salgado, as well as street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Vivian Maier and many of the Magnum Photographers.

What is your next creative project?

This July I will be traveling to the Ladakh region of the High Himalayas in northern India with my wife on our honeymoon. Through my own documentary style I wish to photograph the Buddhist way of life in these remote regions of the Himalayas. I am also trying out film photography for the first time with my grandfather’s Leica III.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I was looking for a minimalistic website design to showcase my portfolio of work. Portfoliobox provides an excellent easy-to-use platform where I am able to update my photographs without hassle.

Who are you?

My name is Pierre Estérie, I'm a photographer based in Bordeaux, France. My work has evolved the past year and now focuses on documentary photography about social issues. I work as part of a collective called Medication Time.

What are you inspired by?

That's a difficult question. I think inspiration is coming from everywhere and everything. For me, I would say that music is a big part of my life so it surely inspires me a lot. But also, the conversations I can have with my friends and every activity I can have on a day to day basis.

What was the last movie you watched?

'Daesh', a documentary film by Thomas Dandois, Francois-Xavier Tregan .

What was the last book you read?

'E-penser' a book by Bruce Benamran. It's a very fun book to read about the history of science and he manages to explain a lot of complexe theories very easily.

Do you have any role model?

I don't have any role model. It's like inspiration. Every person I grew up with, every friend or every photographer I look up to shape the way I see everything.

What is your next creative project?

I work on a project about the surfing community and another about retired people.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I have a background in computer sciences but I have to say that I don't really like web design/development. Portfoliobox is nice and easy so I give it a go !

Who are you?

I call myself “creativity dependent” and I express myself in a lot of different media. Photo is the most interesting for me. I try to create images with my stories interlaced. I want my thoughts to become images and my photos to create new stories.

What are you inspired by?

Nature inspires a lot and books I read.

What was the last book you read?

I recently read the book Photography - an introduction by Steve Edwards that inspired me very much!

Do you have any role model?

Many of my role models are of course photographers. I love to study contemplative photography.

What is your next creative project?

There are many projects I want to do, and a lot of projects that I have on going, that I want to finish. This autumn, I hope that my pictures in the project “Gislaved by me” will be featured in an exhibition in my hometown. It's about the community where I live and where I take most of my photos. Hopefully they will also be published on christinetibratt.com

Who are you?

I grew up in Newcastle where I spent 5 years studying photography. I’ve lived and worked as a photographer in London for over 20 years. I like to get the shot the client wants with as little re-touching as possible, this is possible by understanding how to light the shot.

What are you inspired by?

The person that has inspired me most came to my attention in my college days. It is André Kertész, who created images that were not the norm at the time by using different compositions to tell his story.

What was the last movie you watched?

'The Big Short'. Very well shot and acted. I was surprised that I was rooting for the people who were about to bring down the world’s economy.

What was the last book you read?

'A Brief History of Seven Killings' by Marlon James. I still haven’t finished this, finding it hard going.

What is your next creative project?

I am going to create a series of macro images of cocktails.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

The ease with which you can create a very professional looking, easy to use website yourself. I particularly like the control you have in being able to update and change the images on your site so quickly.

Who are you?

My full name is Guendalina. I'm a student in engineering based in Rome and born in Pescara, Italy. I can't say where my creative side came from, it happens very naturally. I started to be stimulated by images since I was very young, But my interested become real when I discovered the many sides of photography thanks to the arrival of social medias and internet communication. At the beginning I was very into fashion and fine art, now I can say I'm at a point where I see me more as a portrait and fashion photographer. I like to represent images and emotions which may be concrete, reality intrigues me more than fantasy, conceptual and magic.

What are you inspired by?

I'm mostly inspired by movies but I also find very inspirational photographers from the past like Vivian Maier or Alfred Eisenstaedt. I like old-fashioned style portraits and spontaneous looks.

What was the last movie you watched?

'Labyrinth of lies'.

What was the last book you read?

'The Grand Design' by Stephen Hawking

Do you have any role model?

My parents.

What is your next creative project?

I have some ideas quite disconnected. At the moment I'm working for a magazine that will be realized for a film festival and I'm very excited about it! There are also a few people I'm planning to work with for new upcoming shootings not connected between them, and I'm also going to start a new long term personal project that will talk about life in its general meaning.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

I love the fact that there aren't templates by default for the whole site but only for the single pages, so I could realize any kind of page independently form the others such as different kinds of galleries. That's pretty awesome!

Who are you?

My name is Nicola Muirhead, I am a documentary photographer and freelance photojournalist from Bermuda. I currently live in London and am studying for my Masters in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism at the University of the Arts London. My documentary projects focus on the challenges and triumphs of the human experience - socially, politically and internally - as well as our relationship with the environments in which we live, such as urban or agricultural communities. I think that imagery and story-telling are important vehicles to understanding our world.

What are you inspired by?

I am inspired by the people I photograph and their stories.

What was the last movie you watched?

This is embarrassing... but I will answer truthfully.  Drop Dead Fred...  A friend of mine told me it was on Netflix, and I remembered watching it as a kid. FYI I am not recommending this movie. The question did ask, what was the "last" movie you watched.

What was the last book you read?

Earth Memories by Llewelyn Powys.

Do you have any role model?

I would have to say both my mother and father have been role models for me in my life. I ultimately learned from them how to be open minded and, at the same time, very analytical; I think this split perspective has helped me in my journey as a critical journalist and documentary photographer.

What is your next creative project?

Recently I have been documenting Portobello Road in London - trying to capture the dualities that exist there between the new and the old; those who have lived in the community for decades and those new residents who are moving in - looking at the contrasts and changes in the area. It is still a work in progress and I am just enjoying meeting the people there.

What do you like about Portfoliobox?

It is a very easy platform to use and for me that is HUGE. Portfoliobox has a clear dashboard and editors view that allows me to change galleries and templates quickly and seamlessly. And I like to change my mind a lot, so I have been able to transform my site almost every other month!
