Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm Camila Amar, artist and psychology student from Argentina, currently living in Buenos Aires. I like to experiment with different media, colors, themes and find my own in the variety, amplitude and possibility that art offers.

Tell us about one of your favourite projects and what inspired you to do it

Well… every project is unique in it’s experience, but probably one of my favorite is the Dervish head sculpture. When imI started, the idea was to do a complete different thing. I wanted to practice and repeat a figure I saw of a young female gazing downwards, but the result was the complete opposite. When I realized it was not what I was expecting, I just let the piece grow almost by itself. It was an awesome experience.

What are you working on at the moment?

Right now Im working on another sculpture. It’s a 27 cm tall cat. I also uploaded the picture of the basic shape for you to see the basic shape I just started…

Who are your biggest influencers in the industry?

This is a difficult question, due to the fact that I try to explore different art forms and there are so many incredible artists. But to name some: Patrick Villas, Desiree de Ridder, Geninne Zlatkis, Myoe Win Aung.

What was the last thing that inspired you?

Nature and a dream.

Tell us why it's important for you to have an artist portfolio website

It’s important mainly because it’s useful to have a stable platform where I can showcase my works.

As a professional artist what are your tips in building an artist portfolio website?

Communication with the support team, they will explain everything you need to know regarding programming. Choose your favorite projects, don’t upload everything. Don’t be afraid to put up many works but choose wisely, the portfolio is not a complete display but a sneak peek into your work.
